Uncle Charles, Mama, and Uncle Johnny

By the end of 1939, Granny had given birth to four children; however, Grandpa was sick, John Russell's baby had died, and Wyman (Granny's youngest baby) had died. When Grandpa became too ill to work, they moved off the Cherry Place to Liddieville, LA.

On December 7, 1941, less than 20 years from the day Japan said, "America, we'll never forget...", they bombed Pearl Harbor. Six weeks later, on January 18, 1942, Grandpa died.
